Nail Fungus Symptoms
Nail fungus usually starts as a small white or yellowish colored spot found under the fingernail or toenail, usually near the tip. Over time, the spot spreads to a larger area under the nail and eventually can cover the entire area under the digits nail.
Once the nail is fully engulfed in fungus, it usually becomes discolored (usually a dark yellow). The nail will then begin to thicken, and crumble - starting on the edges. As time goes on, the naul may crack and peel, become irregularly shapes, and change to various color shades.
If left completely untreated nail fungus can eventually result in the loss of the nail completely.
There is usually no itching, burning or pain associated with nail fungus (except if the nail is cracked or damaged due to fungus). If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you may have another condition other than (or in conjunction with) nail fungus.
